FOSTORIA - Part 3
ALEXIS Vase and Almond Cup
Courtesy Jerry and Carol Curtis
ALEXIS Vase and Almond Cup: These unusual pieces belong to Jerry and Carol Curtis and were identified by Don Crabb of the Fostoria Museum. The Alexis pattern was part of Fostoria's #1630 line of crystal products made between 1909 -1925. Mr. Crabb commented that he had never seen marigold examples, which leads to the conclusion these were iridized in after-market circumstances.
The lovely linear type vase stands 9 ½?tall and is sometimes called a 揵ouquet holder? The almond cup, 1 ¾?tall, is often referred to as a 搒alt dip?
VOGUE is the pattern for this Toothpick Holder.
It is about 2.5 in. tall, said to be very desirable with a value of $250.
VOGUE Toothpick Holder: is very likely another item which was iridized for after -market sales. It has been seen infrequently in carnival glass circles for many years in light marigold finish.
BROCADED POPPY Tumbler - Ice Green
Courtesy Bob Smith
BROCADED POPPY Tumbler: A 揻ind?of this caliber for a tumbler collector is downright magnanimous! When Bob Smith contacted us with his newfound joy, 揾is cup runneth over?in telling us that he believes this to be the first ever found! The etched design proved very difficult to capture in a photograph. The light shade of ice green somehow creates shadows difficult to encompass. This lovely tumbler stands 4 7/8? There is also an ice green ice bucket in this pattern. A server and compote are known in pink Brocaded Poppy. We thank Bob for allowing us to be the first to show our viewers this rare tumbler.
BROCADED ACORN Compotes: The two designs shown here in blue and lavender actually speak for themselves in their graceful shapes and magnificent lines.
BROCADED ACORN Cornucopia
5.25 in. high x 11.25 in. wide with 4.5 in. base
BROCADED ACORN Cornucopia: This delightful shape would lend itself nicely to an array of fresh fruit!
BROCADED PALMS: is another of the prominent patterns found in many useful and accommodating shapes and colors created to compliment daily living in a home setting.
BROCADED SUMMER GARDEN Console Set
BROCADED SUMMER GARDEN Console Set: We have seen a smaller, more round bowl used with these candlesticks. This oval shape is a full 12?long . Diameter of the candlesticks is 4 ½?
