HEAVY PINEAPPLE:  One of the more rare patterns by Fenton, the 1991 Edwards Encyclopedia displays a white example of these 10?3 footed bowls more or less flattened, creating a likely 12?plate. The only white example we have ever seen was purchased by Larry Yung while attending an early 2000 auction in the Columbus, OH area. Over all, this pattern probably has not been seen by many collectors. No examples are pictured in The Second Twenty-Five Years-Fenton Glass! The Doty site offers a blue rose bowl shape. When we purchased the marigold bowl displayed here in 2010, Jim Seeck said it is his first sale of the pattern. He抯 been on the auction circuit since the 1980抯!
Pattern is exterior. Friends have told us they have seen the pattern in crystal and Fenton produced a black water set for Levay, using the pattern. Only 3-4 marigold bowls have been reported, with perhaps about that number of blue ones available, as well. We would guess there are a fewer number of white examples.

ORANGE TREE Centerpiece Bowls: (Ring of Daisies center interior) -   Amazing! Beyond the hundred year mark for carnival glass: (Orange Tree pattern dates to about 1911); yet occasionally an unusual pattern presents itself. Green, blue and amethyst examples were in the collection of the late Dale Matheny. This marigold bowl has great exterior iridescence, but the interior color is fairly weak. It sold during the 2011 Tampa Bay Convention for $2100. The amethyst bowl had brought more than $5,000 at the ACGA Convention auction conducted by Jim Wroda. The flared green bowl brought $3100 at the Aug. 2011 www.cga Convention in Greenville, OH, conducted by Jim Wroda. The bowl had been in the Byron and Grace Rinehart collection for many years!

ORANGE TREE Ruffled Fruit Bowls:  As with the Centerpiece bowls, these offer only three Orange Tree designs on the interior, along with the center circle of Daisies. While we display amethyst, blue, and marigold, we wonder whether there are examples in green and white?

FEATHERED RAYS Bowl:  The following message was received 9/5/11.

?FONT COLOR="#CCFFFF">Hi, I am hoping you wouldn抰 mind if I pick your brain on this pattern. Last week I was at Seecks and asked them. They were not aware of it. I asked Mickey Reichel. He was not aware of it and suggested I ask you. The only reference I have found on this is in Carwile抯 11th & 12th edition. The pattern is Feathered Rays. According to him, it was done as a re-tooling of the Stippled Rays pattern. Mine is green. Actually it is very well done. Considering pattern, it looks more like haystacks to me than bows. Carwile shows a green, as well, and says it was brought to light for him by Carol Spurgeon. What we are wondering is how many are out there? Have you ever heard of this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Elaine Blue?/FONT>

Note: Our site partner, Donna Adler, says she recalls having seen one of these pieces a few years ago, but does not remember where.
We (Dean & Diane) have never encountered an example in this pattern.

揕et not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father抯 house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
And where I go you know, and the way you know.?/FONT>
