Millersburg - Part 8
MILLERSBURG ?Part 8
Millersburg Factory Mixing Room
One Share of Millersburg Stock.
Millersburg Stock Certificate: brought $215. when sold during Marie McGee抯 auction in July 2009.
DIAMONDS in SNOW or STIPPLED DIAMONDS.
Left: DIAMONDS in SNOW - 6 in. across x 3 inches high - sold for $2066.
Right: DIAMONDS in SNOW - Green.
DIAMONDS in SNOW: Handled nappy in marigold, may be the first in that color to surface. Longtime collector/dealer, Rick Kojis found this example in a little antique shop in Oconomowoc, WI in late Aug. ?9 and placed it on eBay. An amazing $2,066.77 was the resultant price. We discuss an amethyst and green in this pattern (found in Millersburg - Part 3 segment). In the mid 1980s, while attending a HOACGA Convention, the first amethyst nappy was presented to the late John Britt, well-known collector/author/dealer at the time. He immediately named it Diamonds in Snow, which is an aptly placed designation. Since that time, it has been called Stippled Diamonds. However, considering that the Diamonds are NOT stippled, we truly believe that Diamonds in Snow, as John Britt called it many years ago, is a much better-placed pattern name. Nappy size: 6?across x 3?tall. (There is another green example shown in our Millersburg - Part 2 segment.-Two or three in that color are known.)
DIAMONDS Punch Bases - Courtesy Steve Maag
DIAMONDS Punch Bases: Steve Maag tells us he has owned the crystal base for 10 years, the green one since 2004 and the amethyst example since 2007. He really would like to complete the 搒et? should anyone be willing to share a blue and a marigold with him.
Green Tri-corner NIGHT STARS Nappy.
Tri-corner Amethyst NIGHT STARS Nappy.
NIGHT STARS Nappy: Only one of these in amethyst tri-corner shape is known. It has sold at auction for $900.
CHERRIES with HOBNAIL Exterior.
HANGING CHERRIES with Hobnail Ext.: 10?size bowls are rare. Only eight to ten are known in amethyst carnival. Marigold is more difficult to find with only four known to exist. A couple of blue bowls are known, with one reported in green. A small 5?size bowl in blue has also been reported in this pattern.
FLEUR-DE-LIS Collar Base Bowl - Vaseline - Sold for $4000.
FLEUR DE LIS - Green.
FLEUR de LIS Tri-Corner Collar base -
9.5 in. x 8.75 in. x 4.5 in. at the tallest point.
FLEUR DE LIS: This motif is associated with royal families of France. The exterior pattern is Country Kitchen. Fleur De Lis is also found as an interior pattern on some Hobstar and Feather punch bowls. A wide range of bowls in many sizes and shapes are found in either satin or radium finish. Collar base bowls are harder to find than those with domed base. Amethyst, green and marigold are best known. One vaseline example is known. Tri-cornered examples have radium iridescence and good color, making them highly desirable.
Green DOLPHINS Compote. Courtesy Ron & Mary Ann Bowen.
DOLPHINS Compote: Amethyst, blue and green are the known colors for this lovely, unusual compote. It would be exciting to find a marigold example! The Rosalind pattern used on the interior is a wonderful display for the 搇arger than usual?size of this compote. The three supporting Dolphins define what is described in one of the court-ordered inventories of the Millersburg plant抯 glassware lists as the ?10 Dolphin Comport? (An amethyst Dolphins compote appears in Millersburg Stems.)

The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all.
Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word,
Heeding the voice of His word.
Bless the Lord, all you His hosts, you ministers of His, who do His pleasure.
Bless the Lord, all His works, in all places of His dominion.
Bless the Lord, O my soul! (Psalm 103:19-22)
