Wishbone - Part 1
WISHBONE ?Part 1
Amethyst Tri-Corner 9 in. Bowl.
Green Tri-Corner 9 in. Bowl.
Marigold Tri-Corner 9 in. Bowl.
We recall the fact that Don Kime flew to Ashville, NC along in the late ?0s or early ?0s to purchase one of these tri-corner bowls in green. It was sold in a local auction there. Only a couple in green have been reported.
Don, and the late Roland Kuhn of Wichita, specialized in the Wishbone pattern for many years! (Don believes it took 20-30 years to accumulate their 36 examples, including bowls, plates, and the epergnes.) They owned all colors in the epergnes, with exception to the lily for the green one. They knew a lady who owned two complete examples, but she would not part with one!
1911 ?1912 were prime years of production, but apparent market desirability of the pattern extended into 1915. Three-footed 8-9?bowls were produced in a wider variety of color than other sizes/shapes. Marigold, amethyst, green, cobalt blue, white, ice blue, ice green, aqua opalescent, lavender, horehound, lime green and smoke are known colors. 9?plates in this footed variety are known in marigold, amethyst, and green. Amethyst, green and marigold tri-corner shaped bowls and plates in the 8?9?size are found occasionally. Bowls can be ruffled or have pie crust edge.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
Be of the same mind toward one another.
Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble.
Do not be wise in your own opinion. Repay no one evil for evil.
Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.
If it is possible, as much as depends on you,
live peaceably with all men.
Beloved, do not avenge yourselves,
but rather give place to wrath; for it is written,
揤engeance is Mine, I will repay,?says the Lord.
Therefore 揑f your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him a drink;
for in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.?/FONT>
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
