Northwood THREE FRUITS Bowl in Scarce White (Stippled).

Northwood THREE FRUITS collar based bowl: These 8?9?bowls are found with either a plain or stippled background, ruffled or pie crust edge. This pattern was introduced in 1910, and remained a Northwood staple throughout their years of production. They can be either trademarked or unsigned. Exteriors may either be Basketweave, plain or ribbed. Ruffled bowls having plain background are found in marigold, amethyst, and green. Clambroth, lavender, horehound, and honey amber examples surface infrequently. Smoke, cobalt blue, white, lime green, aqua opalescent and pearlized custard are all rare colors. Most of the non-stippled bowls will have Basketweave exterior, but the more unusual colors will have plain exteriors.
Aside from the stippling, the collar-based ruffled and pie crust edge bowls differ; having a band of three fine, raised ribs encircling the pattern. Most are found with the ribbed exterior. They are more difficult to find than the non-stippled version in any color. Ruffled examples do turn up more often in marigold, amethyst, cobalt blue, and white.
A second known bowl shape rests on a dome foot. Measuring 8-9?in diameter, they often display a superimposed, double exterior pattern. The Basketweave exterior displays a faint portion of the Vintage pattern, which was one of the moulds purchased from Jefferson in 1908. Marigold, amethyst, green, and white are fairly plentiful. Horehound and honey amber are scarce colors, along with ice green. A cobalt blue example revealed itself in Dec. 2006!

Northwood 8-9 inch Bowl in Amethsyt.
BASKETWEAVE exterior pattern.

BASKETWEAVE:  This exterior design is found on 8-9?bowls and 9?plates in marigold, amethyst, and green, having no interior pattern!  It is also found on the exterior of Fruits & Flowers footed bonbons and a variety of other exteriors, including some compotes.
The 1908 -1912 time period saw its more extensive use. After 1912, favor was given to the more simple ribbed exterior on most items.
When found on bowls, plates and compotes with a plain, un-patterned interior, they are called 揘orthwood抯 Rainbow? Amethyst examples are most often found. Only an occasional marigold or green turns up.

Fenton THREE FRUITS in Amethyst - 9 inch Plate - (FLAT)!

Fenton THREE FRUITS: These 9?plates could be considered 12-sided plates. The exterior is plain. Blue is possibly the most often seen color. Amethyst, green and marigold constitute the range of colors available. The plates are flat, not 搒cooped? as most of the Northwood versions are. An occasional 9?amethyst bowl is seen and green has been reported.

Dean & Diane Fry, - Aug. ?3
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed,
and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
though its waters roar and be troubled,
though the mountains shake with its swelling.
There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God,
the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved;
God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved;
He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Come, behold the works of the Lord,
who has made desolations in the earth.
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariot in the fire.
Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
(Psalm 46)
