Amethyst Singing Birds table set.

SINGING BIRDS Table Set:  Marigold and green table sets can be viewed by clicking into the Table Set listings. Iridescent production of this pattern dates to 1911. White, amethyst and marigold examples present themselves more frequently, but cobalt blue and ice green are more difficult to locate. Ice green and ice blue compotes are considered rare. Black amethyst and lime green are known colors. Aqua opalescent compotes top the rarity list, with few known. Three or four green compotes are known to have been discovered in Australia. SMOOTH RAYS: One of Northwood's earliest designs, dating from 1908-1910. Butler Bros. Catalogs indicate the pattern to be the earliest of iridized examples. The ruffled berry sets in 9"-10" and 5"-6" sizes are found in marigold, amethyst and green. Exterior pattern is MEANDER. The Northwood N is found on each example.

PANELED HOLLY
Paneled Holly bonbon.

PANELED HOLLY:  Dating from the earliest carnival glass production, circa 1908 in non-iridized form, there is a scarcity of pieces known in carnival glass! An amethyst water pitcher, one creamer and one covered sugar are known in amethyst, along with a single known spooner  in marigold. A two-handled bonbon formed from a spooner mould are available from time to time in green; usually having the Alaskan iridescent treatment. Marigold and amethyst examples surface from time to time. All known examples display the Northwood trademark.

Dean & Diane Fry, Dec. 2014

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer,
he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror,
for he observes himself, foes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it,
and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
If any one among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue
but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless.
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this:
to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality.
(James 122-2:1)
